What is BIOMIMETIC? ...

Biomimetic is applied science on the use of technical devices and systems, principles of organization, properties, functions and structures of nature, that is, forms of living things in nature and their industrial counterparts. Thus biomimetic - a compound of biology and engineering.

Formal birth year of bionics is considered to be 1960. Scientists - bionics chose as their emblem a scalpel and a soldering iron, connected by the integral sign, and motto - "Alive prototypes is the key to the new technique."

There are the following direction of biomimetic: biologic biomimetic, which studies the processes occurring in biological systems; theoretical biomimetic, which is building a mathematical model of these processes; technical biomimetic, biomimetics theoretical model is applied to solve engineering problems. biomimetic is closely related to biology, physics, chemistry, cybernetics, and engineering: electronics, navigation, communication, seamanship, etc.

The main research areas in bionics:

- The study of the nervous system of humans and animals and modeling of nerve cells (neurons) and neural networks for further improvement of computer technology and the development of new components and devices of automation and remote control (neurobiomimetic);

- Study of the sense organs and other sensing systems of living organisms to develop new sensors and detection systems, the study of the principles of orientation, location and navigation in different animals to use these principles in the art;

- Study of morphological, physiological, biochemical characteristics of living organisms for the nomination of new technical and scientific ideas.

Widely developed areas such as bionics: medical, technical, arhitecture construction, transport, industrial design, hydrobiomimetic. Over the past 30 years, there are new areas of bionics: psychological biomimetic, neurobiomimetic, ecobiomimetic.
